Moss art in interior design

There are living and preserved moss art pieces – the big difference lies in the maintenance required. Living moss art pieces must be regularly misted and trimmed and require appropriate humidity levels to prevent mold. Preserved moss art pieces consist of real, but permanently preserved mosses and plants and are completely maintenance-free.

Our mosses come from certified, sustainably managed European forests, where a maximum of 20–30% of the moss stock is harvested.

After harvesting, the mosses are cleaned, preserved with glycerin, and dipped in food coloring – entirely without chemical substances. This process makes the moss art pieces dust-repellent and allergy-friendly, ideal for interiors and children's rooms.

Our moss and plant pictures are suitable for a wide range of applications – from offices and conference rooms to hotels and restaurants, as well as medical practices. The flexible design options allow for individual shapes and sizes, even entire moss walls, such as our 20 m² installation at the Benz Atelier in Neckarbischofsheim, which still looks fresh even after three years.

When placing them, the height should be chosen carefully, depending on whether the moss picture will be viewed while walking by or while seated. For logos, eye level is recommended to improve readability. The pictures look particularly effective above furniture such as sideboards or sofas – also as a complement to picture ledges.
